I am a full time graphic designer and travel enthusiast. For my senior project in college, I wrote and designed a travel guide called the Untouristed Guide to Dublin, which was based off my time spent in Ireland the previous summer. I loved the immersive experience I had studying abroad and wanted to share it with others. I wanted to cultivate a new attitude toward traveling – an attitude that emphasizes holistic, cultural experiences instead of snapshotting sights. I graduated from college and left my travel projects alone while trying to find my niche in a career path. Now that I’m getting settled in, I think it’s a good time to pick back up and rekindle my love of traveling, writing, and sharing with others.
Traveling is my hobby. Would I love to do it full time? Sure! But I also have student loans that need to be fed. Fortunately, I feel that the Untouristed way can be lived anywhere, whether I’m home or across the globe. To me, it’s about finding something new, and there are plenty of places around my home in Michigan that I haven’t explored yet. Above all, I love to learn, especially about new places and people.
I am excited to start this journey with you. I hope that my experiences and ideas can be helpful or inspiring to travel enthusiasts all around. I’m looking forward to growing, traveling, and continuing to learn about cultures. Knowledge is the one thing you can never have enough of.
